Retrogression

Let’s see now…

…what comes to mind with the term “retrogression”…?

First up, we’re not going to be afraid of retrogression.

How are we going to achieve that?

By knowing what we’re dealing with.

But, that’s exactly it.

A retrograde planet is unpredictable in nature.

Where does that leave us?

All we want is a rough framework. Apart from that we’ll deal with retrogression with real-time street knowledge, as it comes.

A retrograde planet is moving against the tide.

To swim against the tide, extra effort is involved.

Energies are stretched.

Native might be in pain, physically, mentally, or both.

Depending upon the level of retrogression, native might even be at full stretch.

When we’re stretched, we’re erratic.

We might burst out.

We flash at stuff in the way.

We’re probably pushing against a wall.

Why are we doing this?

There’s no other way forward for us.

We change direction, as denoted by the retrogression at hand.

Natural benefics are softer when they retrogress as compared to natural malefics.

Throw in the Houses here, and one can combine four ways, as in natural benefic + Lord of benefic houses, natural benefic + Lord of malefic Houses, natural malefic + Lord of benefic Houses and lastly, natural malefic + Lord of malefic Houses. Effects get more and more difficult along this progression, from left to right, and, one can apply this in Prashna.

A retrogressing planet in transit can change signs. Thus, upon entering the preceding sign, the retrogressing planet is said to have gone “heen”. A befitting translation that comes to my mind is “gone rogue”. In this condition, worst effects could emanate. Situation freezes upon stationary position, and starts to change upon direct movement. Till the preceding sign has not been fully traversed, solid betterment is probably not felt by the native. Upon reentry into original sign, situation betters tangibly. Native starts putting things behind him- or herself after first point of retrogression is transgressed, with the now direct planet busy in forward movement.

One more word about the stationary point. For a while, (slower moving) planets will show a speed of 0 minutes per day upon reversal of retrogression (or reversal of direct motion, for that matter). This “while” is significantly long in length for these slower moving planets, specifically for example for Saturn, with an intense energy exchange mould going into action between native and stationary planet. Native has been struggling during transitory retrogression. Now the planet reverses, and is first stationary. Static in the native shorts a fuse, and upon the native then the lesson dawns. There is learning. Learning. More Learning. Planet starts to pick up speed. Sticky situation shows it is going to improve.

Rahu and Ketu are almost always in retrograde motion. The Rahu-Ketu axis (RKA) is seen to identify an area where a native will break the line and behave differently to the norm, amongst other things.

Retrogression causes us…

…to come out,…

…to be bold,…

…outspoken,

…and to not be scared of behaving differently.

Its pushing against the wall makes us strong from inside, such that we then carry this additional strength with us for the rest of our lives.
