So, Why Prashna Anyways?

I was taught Prashna by Mr. Deepak Kapoor at Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi, in 2001 and 2002.

Mr. Kapoor was an excellent teacher, with great depth, experience and dedication. One picked up fast from a teacher like him.

So, why Prashna anyways?

Accuracy with regard to birth times is an issue.

When we’re not sure about the time of birth, we try to extrapolate or superimpose, using different Lagnas.

It’s hit and trial.

Are we happy?

If not, we might use Chandra Lagna.

Or, we resort to sheer Prashna.

Yeah, now we’re happy.

At other times, queries crop up which cannot be answered by a birth horoscope.

Theft.

War.

Property.

Appearance of thief – what does he or she look like?

Is a missing person dead or alive?

If alive, what is the current status of his or her well-being?

Captivity?

Release?

Pregnant?

One might be surprised at the accuracy of the Prashna chart pertaining to above and related issues.

So much so, that sometimes, an available birth-chart might even be relegated to supplementary use.

For example, you might want to reconfirm something you’re seeing in the Prashna chart by then pulling out the available birth-chart.

Fine. To a level. You do get an idea, after reading the above-mentioned matters, that in some cases, only the Prashna chart is able to give reliable results.

It would be the done thing to acknowledge here that the Prashan chart has its usage and versatility in areas that the birth-chart has limitations in.

Done.

What time-frame are we looking at in Prashna?

Near past.

Near future.

Maximum usable time-frame would be the ball-park figure of one year.
